Free SHS: It Is Out Of Place To Blame Fmr President Mahama

The National Chairman of the People's National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah says "it is totally out of place" for a sitting government to blame a former President for its failures.

Mr. Mornah's comment follows reports that former President Mahama is sabotaging the implementation of the free SHS policy.

The immediate past President is alleged to be scheming with some South Africans against the free SHS education policy of the Nana Addo-led administration.

This has however been denied by the spokesperson of the former President, Joyce Bawa Mogtari.

Speaking during a panel discussion on Radio Gold's Alhaji and Alhaji, Mr Mornah said: "I don't think the people of this country elected President Akufo Addo to come and tell us who is frustrating his government. The people elected him to fulfil his promises. It is totally out of place to blame the former President for the delays or frustrations in implementing the free education concept. What will motivate anybody to come and say that a sitting President is being frustrated by a former President? Then President Mahama is a very powerful person...who then is in control? I think it is sad that we can devalue ourselves to this state.
