MFWA to Convene Stakeholders Forum on Inclusive Governance

The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) will on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 convene a special Stakeholders forum on the theme: Ensuring Inclusive Governance in Ghana. The event will be held at the Catholic Guest House in Tamale at 9am prompt.

The MFWA recognises that inclusive, accountable, and democratic governance is critical for building peaceful, just and inclusive societies that respond to the needs of all people by securing their equal participation and engagement in national processes.

At the forum, stakeholders will discuss the crucial nature of inclusive governance as a prerequisite for building strong institutions and how the government can demonstrate its commitment to creating an enabling governance environment that is responsive to the needs and interests of the most disadvantaged and marginalized in society.

The forum will be chaired by Professor Agnes Apusigah, Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Development Studies and will feature presentations from key stakeholders such as Persons With Disabilities (PWDs), women's groups, youth groups, and the media.

The forum is being organised with funding support from Ford Foundation.
