Kofi Ganyo, 25 years and described as a hardened criminal, has been jailed 35 years in hard labour by an Aflao Circuit Court.
Ganyo, said to be a member of an armed gang which terrorised residents and travellers in and around Aflao, pleaded not guilty to robbery and causing harm.
Police Inspector Mama Ekuamoah told the court that on January 01 Ganyo attacked Mr Kwame Adzogah, a porter, with a cutlass at the Aflao beach and snatched his mobile phone, a piece of cloth and 20 Ghana cedis from Mr Adzogah's wife.
She said police investigations led to Ganyo's arrest.
