Ansah Gets Late Stars call-up

Nigeria-based utility player Aziz Ansah has been handed a late call-up to the Black Stars for Sunday's World Cup qualifier against Mali. The African Champions League finalist has been given the invite to boost the squad for the game in Kumasi and the friendly with Angola.Ansah, who played in last week's final of the continental competition, has been invited because of his performance for Heartland. Several Europe-based players are unable to play in the Angola friendly on Wednesday which resulted in two late call-ups in the Black Stars. Qatar-based Opoku Agyemang joined the squad on Sunday and Ansah arrived on Tuesday after his side lost to TP Mazembe in the final of the Caf Champions League. Ansah returns to the squad after a three-year absence as he was a member of the larger 2006 World Cup team but was dropped for the tournament.
