Ghana's Politicians Are "Vampires" . . . Beware! - Lawyer Ampaw

Legal Practitioner, Maurice Ampaw says Ghanaian politicians are nothing but "vampires" and "unprincipled" people who only think about enriching their pockets to the detriment of the entire nation.

He made this remark on U TV's Friday programme "Mpu ne Mpu" where he outlined habits of politicians in Ghana.

During the programme, Lawyer Ampaw took the opportunity to advise President Nana Akufo-Addo to beware of the people hero-worshiping and singing his praises.

According to him, such people are doing the President any good because as politicians, they will do everything to "change their circumstances and status in life".

He advised the President to note carefully that he will be seeking power from Ghanaians, come 2020, and so if he becomes susceptible to the machinations by the political actors surrounding him, he may not stand a chance of being elected for a second term.

Touching on the character of politicians, Lawyer Ampaw minced no words as he told host that "they're not trustworthy. They're unprincipled. They're vampires. They're people who are not true to themselves. They came not to serve us. They came to exploit us. They came to enrich themselves...they lie to us and then you tell us that you came to serve".

He further warned the political leaders to know that "power resides in us (Ghanaians) and not them. They came to borrow. They pleaded with us and we gave it to them and so they should listen to us when we raise objections about something they're doing."
