Denkyira Traditional Council Condemns Barbaric Killing Of Soldier

The Denkyira Traditional Council has expressed its shock and outrage at the barbaric killing of an Army Captain, Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama in a gruesome mob action at Denkyira Obuasi on Monday 29th May 2017.

Beliefing the Press yesterday, a fact finding mission in Denkyira – Obuasi where the condemnable act happened, the Council called on all its citizens to fully cooperate with the security agencies as they work to arrest the perpetrators of this dastardly act.

The Council extends its sincere sympathy to the family of the Fallen Solider.

Nananom wish to assure the entire country that this harsh attack on our soil is an attack on the culture and traditions of Denkyira and says it will perform purification rights on Monday 5th June, 2017 at the Odeefuo Ahenfie at Dunkwa.

Nananom wish to state categorically that, there is no history of galamsey activities in Denkyira – Obuasi. The account given by the DCE of the area that the Military were protecting a Mining firm and are not on a mission of anti-galamsey is true.

The Council calls on Government to act with dispatch to quell the growing culture of impunity in our society.
