Be Patriotic And Live Up To Civic Responsibilities

The acting Ashanti Regional Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Mr. Arthur Wilson, has rallied Ghanaians to be patriotic and accept to live up to their civic responsibilities.

They should put the national interest ahead of personal convenience or any other consideration.

He was addressing separate meetings with the security agencies in the Kumasi Metropolis as part of this year’s constitution week celebration.

Mr. Wilson reminded everybody that they had a part to play to make Ghana a safe place for all – to make sure that the law worked.

He advised that they upheld the law and avoided doing anything likely to undermine the peace, security and harmony of the society.

He also spoke of the need for them to join in the fight against corruption – pull together to prevent public officials from the misuse of state resources.

They should boldly hold public officers accountable so that there would be efficient management of these resources to create wealth and make things better.

Mr. Wilson encouraged people to make deliberate effort to study the constitution to help protect it – prevent any infractions.

He indicated that they collectively owed it a duty to safeguard the constitution to sustain the nation on the path of multi-party democracy.
