Ministers Holding Party Positions In NPP Have All Resigned – John Boadu

NPP’s John Boadu has confirmed to NEAT FM’s morning show 'Ghana Montie' that, all government appointees who double as National Executive members of the NPP have all resigned from their postions.

The acting General Secretary of the ‘Elephant’ fraternity says the decision for them to resign from their position was a mutual agreement between the party and the immediate past National Executives.

The need for the former National Executives to vacate their positions could be as a result of the ‘dirty’ exchange of words that ensued between Madam Otiko Afisa Djaba who was then serving as Minster for Gender cum National Women’s Organizer of the NPP and Daniel Bugri Naab, Northern Regional Chairman.

The NPP Northern Regional minister disrupted a meeting organised by Otiko Djaba which he says was without his knowledge. The two later engaged in name calling complete with defamatory allegations.

Mr. Naabu who described the meeting as “illegal” noted that the Gender Minister has no right to come to the region to organize a meeting without first informing the regional executives, saying that even the president would not throw his weight about in such manner.

But Madam Djaba, reacting to the action of the Northern Region NPP Chairman, said she had gone to Tamale to meet the women groups at the instance of the First Lady, Madam Rebecca Akufo-Addo.

Having concluded the First Lady’s assignment, she then decided to meet the women organizers of the NPP “to say a big thank you for working tirelessly to win power for the party”.

The party after calming tempers down urged all National Executives who have been appointed by government to leave their positions.

John Boadu however told NEAT FM’s morning show host Kwesi Aboagye that – “They have all resigned. I have officially congratulated them for their immense contributions to the party’s achievements by winning the 2016 elections.”

“Now we are working on the replacement process,” he added.
