There’re “Angels” In Denkyira-Obuasi - Former MP

The people of Denkyira-Obuasi have courted negative media in recent times after the lynching of an army Captain [Now Major] in their town in the Upper Denkyira West constituency.

Videos and pictures of the gruesome murder of the army officer went viral on social media with the country condemning his ‘killers’.

Many have concluded that the entire indigenes from the town and its environs must be wiped-out for bringing an unbearable pain to the late Major Maxwell Adam Mahama’s family and the nation at large.

But the immediate past Member of Parliament (MP) for Upper Denkyira West, Ben Aryeh has noted that the perception about the entire Denkyira township is “Unfortunate”.

Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’ - Ben Aryeh said the people of Denkyira are known as peace loving people like all Ghanaians and hence ought not to be considered as people who enjoy killing others.

“There are angels in Denkyira-Obuasi as well. Whatever be the case, there are peaceful people in the town,” he told host Kwesi Aboagye.

The former Military Captain who was promoted to the rank of Major by President Akufo-Addo during his visit to the widow and the bereaved family is set to be buried on Friday, 9th July, 2017.
