Roads And Highways Ministry Calls For Afienya-Appolonia-Dawenya Contract Details

The Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon Kwasi Amoako Atta has directed the Ghana Highways Authority to furnish the Ministry with all necessary details on the Afienya-Appolonia-Dawenya road network.

The over 4.2 kilometre road which has been under construction for the past years have been abandoned, leaving commuters and resident stranded.

The Minister who doubles as the Atiwa East Member of Parliament gave the authority five days ultimatum in order to help the Ministry decide whether to abrogate the contract or review it.

The Minister made this known to the media when he together with some Technical Officers, the MP for the area Hon Sam George and Hon Peter Amewu who resides there inspected the road.

He also directed that the authority position a mobile van axle to check over loaded heavy duty tracks that swerve to the Afienya stretch.
