The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) said it was waiting for the needs assessment from the various hospitals attending to the victims of the Atomic Junction gas explosion for action.
Mr Kweku DeGraft, Head of Public Relations at NADMO, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) said the various hospitals complained of lack of hospital consumables products and are currently doing needs assessment.
He said in cases like that, every hospital facility’s needs would differ from each other, hence the need for NADMO to wait for them to complete the assessments to know what their needs are.
At least seven people have been confirmed dead with dozens injured in the Madina-Atomic Junction gas explosion that occurred on Saturday night in Accra.
The fire is said to have started at about 19:30 hours on Saturday.
More than 20 vehicles were also reported to have been burnt by the explosion.
Many of the injured persons were sent to the 37 Military Hospital and Legon Hospital for treatment
