Team Engineering, an Italian engineering company has met with the Minister for Railways Development, Hon. Joe Ghartey to keep him abreast on the latest development of the Western Rail Line Project.

Mr. Joe Ghartey was impressed with the update and told Peacefmonline.com that “They have done enough work for construction to commence almost immediately”.

The team met with the minster and other experts at the headquarters of the Ghana Railways Company Limited in Accra to present to them the final design of the project.

The design will see the rehabilation and construction of the Western Line from Takoradi to Kumasi with a branch to Awaso and then to Nyinahin, and also a branch to Ejisu to join the Eastern Line.

Earlier, the sector minster assured that before the end of President Akufo-Addo’s mandate in 2020, the rehabilitation and construction of the Western rail line would be completed.
