Keep On The Watch

A member of the governing body of Jehovahs Witnesses, Brother Jeffery Jackson has blamed Christendom for making the world forget Gods name. He said though the name Jehovah appears about 7,000 times in the original Hebrew and Greek Scriptures, many Bible translations have removed the name and in its place put Lord or God. He stated that the scripture at Jeremiah 23:27 which says they are thinking of making my people forget my name by means of their dreams that they keep relating each one to the other, just as their fathers forgot my name by means of Baal. This, according to him, is a major contributory factor to peoples reasons for not believing in the existence of God. In many countries in Europe, people do not believe in God or the Bible, he said, adding, Because they believe in the false teaching of evolution, although the Bible clearly states that You are worthy, Jehovah, even our God, to receive the glory and the honour and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will they existed and were created. (Rev 4:11). Brother Jackson was speaking at the just ended International Convention of Jehovahs Witnesses at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra. It was based on the theme 'Keep On The Watch.'The event also took place in other parts of the country including the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, the Tamale Sports Stadium and others. Over 100,000 delegates of witnesses both local and international with their invited friends attended the convention with about 3,475 newly baptized witnesses. Brother Jackson again noted that Jehovahs Witnesses have restored Gods proper name where it should be in the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures published by the organization. Maybe the rest of the world has gone to sleep but we as Jehovahs Witnesses want to keep on the watch, he maintained.
