Commercial Users Of Electricity Praise New CEO Of ECG

Patrons and commercial users of electricity in Ghana, have expressed great satisfaction about the stable power in the country, particularly in the past eleven months, which they admitted had led to some level of profitability in their businesses.

Users like; barbers, ice water sellers, tailors and seamstresses etc claim they have witnessed high productivity in their business due to the availability of electricity power, which, according to them, has also become relatively cheaper.

Most businesses who spoke to our roving reporters indicated that they spent more than Tripled the amount they have spent now, last year, adding that though "dumsor" was the order of the day in 2016, much of their capital and profits went into buying power at the detriment of the growth of their businesses.

Nana Yaw Assibey, a barber and Florence Osei of "Ohemaa's creations" intimated that due to the stability in the power sector, they now run their businesses with confidence.

They hailed President Nana Akufo-Addo, for reposing confidence in Engineer Boakye Appiah, the new Chief executive director of ECG.

To these patrons, the Engineer Boakye has brought potency and some kind of confidence in the power generation company, adding that inspite of the fact that he is new, his leadership has ignited confidence, focus and direction into the company.

An ice-block manufacturer, Wofa Yaw Sarkodie recounts how business has been good due to power stability.

He was full of raise to the Engineer Boakye Appiah whom he describe as a perfect man for that position.

Wofa, therefore, expects Engineer Appiah to stay long at the facility, calling on the president to rally behind him, in order to continue with the rebranding of the sector.
