Residents of Newtown, a suburb of Asankragua in the Wassa Amenfi West District of the Western Region, in the early hours of Sunday, December 10, 2017, woke up to the dastardly killing of Nafisa Abena, who’s carrying a four-month-old pregnancy by one Felix Kwabena, her boyfriend.

Felix Kwabena, 21-years, and a galamsey operator at Asankragua, is alleged to have butchered his girlfriend on suspicion that he may not be the person responsible for the four-month-old pregnancy.

After reportedly butchering Nafisa Abena, a chop bar attendant at Newtown, Kwabena Felix also attempted to take his life by cutting part of his throat, but he only lost consciousness.

He was rushed to the Asankragua Catholic Hospital where doctors are trying to resuscitate him.

The Asankragua District Police command has started investigations into the matter.
