Fire Raze Down Konongo-Odumase SHS Dormitory

Konongo-Odumase Senior High School (SHS), which gutted fire on Saturday, December, 9 around 7: 45 pm has misplaced over 100 students.

The situation which forced some of the students to spend the night in the school’s Assembly Hall, had all the dormitory burnt into ashes.

Briefing the media on the incident, the Konongo-Odumase Divisional Fire Commander, Emmanuel Richard Mensah, indicated that, the fire which started in the the boys’ dormitory at about 7:45 pm and spread to other parts of the building, burning almost everything including students beds and other equipment into ashes.

According to him, there were no casualty recorded as the incidents occurred while the students were studying during prep.

“There was no casualty. At that time they were at prep so that was the fortunate aspect of the whole issue. A total number of 250 students occupy the whole block, but the number of students who were seriously affected is 100. Their belongings and everything got burnt.”

The fire Commander indicated that, the fire would have raze down the entire school structures if the fire officers were not there on time.
