AFD provides 13.9 million euros

Vice President John Mahama would on Wednesday, December 9, cut the sod for official work to start on the 13.9 million euro Community infrastructure upgrading and the Aboabo-Sissai storm drainage improvement works in Kumasi. The French Government through the L' Agence Francaise du Development (AFD) is providing the funding. This was contained in a press statement issued and signed by Mrs. Jemima Nancy Asare, Public Relations Officer of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA). Four communities; Anloga, Asokwa, Ahinsan and Atonsu would benefit. The works include lining of a 3.8 kilometre section of the Aboabo-Sissai drain, construction of 13 kilometres of roads, installation of 12.5 kilometres water supply, street/security lights and public toilets. This would take 24 months to complete, the statement added.
