The Inspirational Story Of A Former Prostitute Now Working At Office Of The First Lady As Deputy Operations Director

No condition is permanent, I find, is one of the most credible truisms ever spoken. It is an axiom everyone must take to heart, which would help you navigate the toughest moments of your life.

If you look around you and everything is bleak and nothing seems to be going your way, just keep ploughing forward as your day in the sun would surely come.

Perpetual Asante is the deputy director of operations at the office of the first lady. She is also an evangelist, and once upon a time, a prostitute roaming the streets of Accra.

During a recent interview on Asempa Fm on the show called ‘Abrabo’, Asante opened up about her traumatic past which included working as a prostitute at circle to make ends meet when she first came to Accra.

“I was forced into prostitution when I first arrived in Accra. I used to stand at Circle and sometimes Caprice to look for men to sleep with to earn a daily bread.” she told show host Maame Akua.

According to her, she one day simply decided to stop the business and move into something else for her dignity.

So she started helping out at shops until she gathered enough money to start her own business, and then she went into business for herself.

She did so well until she became President of an association of petty traders, and through that met Rebecca Akufo-Addo and joined the NPP campaign.

The rest, as they say, is history. She currently serves as an aide to the first lady, as deputy director of operations at her office.
