Court remands man for attempting to rape student

A district magistrate's court at Kade, has remanded into prison custody, Kwadwo Isaac, who allegedly stole a mobile phone belonging to a female student, after he attempted to rape her. The plea of Isaac also known as "Kukula Man" was not taken and he would reappear at court on December 30. Police Chief Inspector Eric Tetteh Zorh, told the court presided over by Mr Abdul Majid Iliasu that Isaac sneaked into the room of the complainant, Mary Oppong while she was asleep at Asuom. Prosecution said Isaac attempted to rape Oppong and in the process inflicted cutlass wounds on her and bolted with her mobile phone. Chief Insp. Iliasu said in June this year, the complainant saw someone in possession of her mobile phone. Prosecution said when Oppong asked the bearer where he got the phone from, he mentioned the name of Isaac. Chief Insp. Iliasu said the Police had contacted the Attorney-General's Office for advice on the case.
