Farmer convicted for stealing from a church

Kwabena Osei, a farmer at Assin-Foso, who stole a quantity of items valued at GH�85.00, from the local branch of the Christ Apostolic Church, has been sentenced to 18 months imprisonment by the District Magistrate's Court at Assin-Foso. Osei pleaded guilty to stealing. Prosecuting, ASP Samuel Kwarteng told the court presided over by Mr. Joseph Blay that sometime in August 2009, the convict broke into the church and made away with a loud speaker, a wall clock, a flower pot and one extension board all valued at GH�85.00. He said upon a tip-off, he was arrested and when his room was searched the items were found in his possession.
