Akufo-Addo Meets Journalists Today

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will today, Wednesday January 17, 2018 meet journalists following his one year in office.

The ruling government marked one year in office on January 7, 2018.

Speaking in an interview on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo', Wednesday, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Deputy Minister of Information and Member of Parliament for the Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency said the meeting is being held in the spirit of transparency and accountability.

According to him, the encounter will start at 11:30am with an address by the President. This will be followed by the asking of questions by the media.

It will be held at the Banquet Hall of the Flagstaff House.

Meanwhile, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has pleaded with journalist who will be present at the encounter to keep their questions 'as simple as possible'.

Wednesday’s exercise will be a second encounter with the media since the President took over the reins of government as Head of State.

A similar media encounter in July last year marked the President's six months in office, where he promised to meet the journalists every six months.
