Twifo-Nuamakrom Zone emerged the overall champions of the 20th annual Inter-zonal Basic School Sports Festival which ended in the Twifo- Hemang Lower Denkyira District,. The Zone bagged 34 points to lift the gigantic Cup donated by Mrs Elizabeth Amoah Tetteh, Deputy Minister of Education. Twifo-Nyinase Zone took the second position with 43 points followed by the Hasowodze-Zone at the third position with 50 points while Twifo-Praso Zone came fourth with 52 points. Twifo- Wamaso Zone came fifth with 54 points, Jukwa Zone was sixth with 55 points, Twifo-Hemang Zone placed seventh with 57 points with Agona/ Juaben Zone placing eighth with 61 points. The ninth position was taken by Twifo- Mampong Zone with 70 points, while Twifo- Wawase Zone came last with 73 points. Mr Kwasi Owusu- Boadi, Assembly Member for Jukwa East presented the Cup to the winners and congratulated the athletes for their excellent achievements and asked them to train harder to bring laurels to the District and the Region as a whole.
