Minister urges women to educate their children

Ms Akua Sena Dansua, Minister of Women and Children's Affairs has advised Ghanaians in the Gambia to educate their children to enable them become responsible citizens in future. Addressing the Ghanaian Community at Ghana Town, Brufut, after attending the Eighth Africa Regional Conference in Banjul, Ms Dansua advised men to take good care of their families. A statement issued in Accra on Friday by Mrs Adiza Ofori-Adu, Public Relations Officer at the Ministry said Ms Dansua was met on arrival by Nana Kwabena Ekuam, Chief of the Town and his elders. Nana Ekuam said their main occupation was fishing and processing of salted fish 'kako'. He denied allegations of child trafficking from Ghana to the Gambia to serve as fishing hands, saying "the practice, which was rampant in the past, has stopped".
