Three Children Mysteriously Found Dead In A Vehicle At Elmina

Three children including a girl were found dead in a locked Kia optima saloon car with registration number CR 234-13 at 0900 hours on Monday at Elmina in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem Municipality of the Central Region.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Irene Oppong, the Central Regional Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the tragedy in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Cape Coast on Monday.

According to her, on Sunday, April 4, 2018, one Mr Kwame Bronya , an uncle of the children residing at Taterm, a suburb of Elmina reported that Maame Akua, age six, Fii, five and Nana Yaw, three years left home unaccompanied by their parents in the morning for church at Family Maker Church held in a classrooms of D/C Junior High School about 400 metres away from their home, but failed to return.

However, about 0900 hours on Monday, April 16, 2018, Mrs Shinny Amissah Dadziebo, the Proprietor of Hollywood Preparatory School located adjacent to the D/C JSS where the children attended church, found the three children dead at the back seat in her Kia Optima Saloon Car.

She said Mrs Dadziebo's told the police that one of her children was taken ill and when she opened her car which was locked and parked inside her walled school compound to send him to the hospital, she surprisingly, found the lifeless bodies of the kids in it.

The police preliminary inspection on them showed no marks of assault and the bodies have subsequently been deposited at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

Police investigations are underway to unravel the mysterious death of the children.
