The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwasi Nyantakyi, must be changed for a new leader to manage Ghana football, Randy Abbey, former Public Relations Officer of the GFA, has said.
According to him, the current leadership of the GFA is bereft of ideas on how to improve football in the country, a situation that requires that a new leader with fresh ideas is made to come in to develop that discipline.
His comments come on the heels of the dismissal of the Vice-President of the GFA, George Afriyie.
He was removed from office following an Executive Committee meeting on Tuesday, 24 April 2018.
There are suspicions that he was sacked following his declaration to contest in the upcoming elections at the GFA. He is also alleged to have questioned how some moneys have been spent at the GFA without following due process.
Mr Randy Abbey told Accra Sports that: “What is happening at the GFA is because Kwasi Nyantakyi wants to contest again.
“At the moment the GFA is made up of those who want change and those who want continuity, I am for change and it is up to those of us for change to convince the delegates why they need to bring in a new person.”
