Atlas Copco Ghana Ltd, a worldwide leading industrial productivity solutions provider, has supported farmers in the Obuasi Municipality with farm implements and household items worth over GH2000. The items, which include, crocodile machetes, Wellington Boots, knapsack sprayers, remote controlled standing fans, televisions, and electric irons, were presented to the farmers in honour of their hard work to make food available to the population. Atlas Copco's Communication Director, Ms Gladys Mante, who presented the items last Saturday at a brief ceremony at Obuasi, said the support was in fulfilment of the company's social responsibility and appreciation to the role that agriculture plays in Ghana and in many other developing countries. She said with more than 130 years of experience in superior productivity worldwide, Atlas Copco believes in giving back to society part of the numerous successes it had chalked globally. As a result, she said, since agriculture is the mainstay of Ghana's economy, it meant that any assistance to the sector was a step in the right direction. Ms Mante said Atlas Copco would continue to promote agriculture in the Municipality to boost the moral of farmers to spur them on to improve productivity at all times.
