One of the key stories trending in Ghana currently is the publication of the photos of a man alleged to be award-winning investigative Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

The photos were released by Kennedy Agyapong, who is the Member of Parliament for Assin Central.

Broadcaster Nana Aba Anamoah, who was clearly not happy about the development, said on Twitter: “if you like put Anas’ pictures from childhood till now on TV, the video will still come out. We will watch. All hail Anas!”

For some years now, Anas has gone to great lengths to hide his identity, particularly his face.

While the photos being released by the MP can’t be readily verified as the real face of the investigative journalist, the development has triggered a social media craze where people are posting pictures of themselves claiming to be Anas.

But could Kumawood actor Akrobeto wearing a wig, makeup and a long dress be the real Anas?
