Ghanaians Told To Show Compassion

The Chief Executive Officer of Greening Options, a local Environmental Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in Accra, Dorcas Ekuban, has called on Ghanaians to show compassion to less privileged members of society as a way of restoring hope and confidence in them. Miss Ekuban said this when the NGO presented assorted gifts comprising mini bags of oranges, books and other items to the Frafraha Foster Home near Adenta in the Greater Accra Region. The CEO explained that apart from working in schools to inculcate environmental protection habits in children, Greening Options also works to help children donate to less fortunate citizens in hospitals, schools and other places. She added that members of Greening Options also embark on clean-up campaigns to help children form a habit of volunteerism. Miss Ekuban expressed satisfaction that many schools are applying to be members of Greening Options Club. Deputy Director of the Forster Home, Madam Victoria Abrahim was thankful for the donation and called on others to follow suit. She said though the home was started about thirty years ago, more remains to be done emphasizing that it was good to ask children to donate to make other children smile.
