Regional Minister celebrates Christmas

The Eastern Regional Co-ordinating Council (RCC) on Boxing Day, joined the staff and patients on admission at the Koforidua Regional Hospital and the St Joseph's Hospital to celebrate the Christmas holiday. As part of the celebration, the Regional Minister, Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo and other staff of the RCC distributed packs of foods and drinks to the patients and staff of the two hospitals. In addition, the RCC donated 10 maxi-bags of maize to the Regional Hospital to augment feeding of the patients on admission. Members of the RCC, included the Chief Director, Mr Samuel Bawa, directors of the Regional Department of Women and Children; Ms Jane Kwapong and Mr Charles Dontoh, Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police Stephen Andoh-Kwofie and the Regional Director of Health Services, Dr Erasmus Agongo. Mr Ofosu-Ampofo thanked the medical for denying themselves all the pleasantries of the occasion to be on duty. He also commended the management of the Regional Hospital for the clean environment. Briefing the media later, the Regional Minister said the visit was in line with the message of Christmas, which emphasized showing of affection for the under privileged. He said putting smiles on the faces of those on admission could hasten their recovery and called on the citizenry to remember the vulnerable during the occasion to give meaning to Christmas. The Administrator of the Regional Hospital, Mr Peter Agyemang-Gyau on behalf of the staff and the patients thanked the Regional Minister and his team for the kind gesture and expressed the hope that others would emulate the gesture.
