Ghana Card: NDC Won’t Be Given The Chance To Score Cheap Political Points - NPP MP

Member of Parliament [MP] for Manhyia North constituency in the Ashanti Region, Collins Owusu Amankwa says they [NPP] will never be moved by agitations from members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He accuses the NDC of attempting to use the Ghana card initiative to score "cheap political points" in their unbridled quest to unseat the current government in the next general elections.

Speaking on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ programme the Manhyia North MP stated, “NDC should know by now that we are not moved by their agenda of wanting to generate controversy with every issue just to score cheap political points”.

“We will not in any way succumb to their agitations. Indeed, we will make sure the right things through the appropriate procedures are done in this country because we will not do things to please any citizen especially the largest opposition party [NDC] when the procedure is wrong,” he said.

Hon Amankwah further opined that the NDC is perhaps worried that soon the Ghana card will become a primary document when one intends to register for a voter’s identity card.

"This plan, they [NDC] are very much aware will prevent them from manipulating the system to win power. All things being equal we cannot get a perfect system, but the voters ID will be the worse-off instrument to acquire a Ghana card,” Hon. Collins Owusu Amankwa insisted.
