Seasoned journalist Kweku Baako says investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his Tiger Eye PI team will be vindicated after the premiering of "Who Watches The Watchman", a video purported to show Anas indulging in scandalous acts.
Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong will today deliver on his promise by screening publicly the video he claims captures Anas receiving bribes.
According to him, the video is a secret recording of the unlawful and despicable operations by the undercover journalist who he says blackmails innocent people to enrich himself.
"Who Watches The Watchman" will be premiered on a giant screen on Wednesday, June 27 at the forecourt of Oman FM, at Madina in Accra at 8 pm.
Addressing the claims by Kennedy Agyapong, Kweku Baako told host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's Kokrokoo that he knows Anas very well and can vouch for him not to have engaged in a dubious act.
Admitting that he is the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the undercover journalist, Mr. Baako who accepts the tag with "alacrity" noted that Kennedy Agyapong and other crusaders against Anas are entitled to provide evidence to corroborate their claims but Anas "will stand tall after all this…I repeat he will stand tall; very [very] tall because he hasn’t received money from any person in order to drop any investigations or to delete people from there”.
“If you’re driven by malice and mischief, there’s no way you can have a better appreciation of what you’re watching, seeing or reading", he further stated.
Kweku Baako also dared any individual with evidence to the fact that he financially induced Anas to influence the outcome of his investigations to "come and tell us that they were caught stealing from the State and they engaged Anas, and compromised him and today they’re walking around free. They should come and tell that story to Ghanaians”.
He also described one of Kennedy Agyapong's informants named Hafiz as a "liar and fraudster", saying "he has to prove his case. He has given Kennedy Agyapong that information. In fact, Kennedy Agyapong has put him on air…he has to come with evidence to the effect that he gave Anas 50000 dollars and so the one who’s peddling it must prove it”.
