‘Anasphobia’ Will Reduce Corruption ─ Ex-Obuasi MCE

EX-MUNICIPAL Chief Executive for Obuasi during the National Democratic Congress (NDC) era, Akwasi Agyeman Boadi, has sanctioned Investigative Journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ style of work.

According to him, corruption is rapidly rising in the country, and that the Anas style of investigation is crucially needed to halt the menace.

Top investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ style of undercover journalism, it would be recalled, has come under serious scrutiny in the country after the release of his latest investigative work some weeks ago.

For instance, outspoken Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central Constituency, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, has accused the award-winning journalist of intentionally luring his victims to commit crime.

But Ofori Agyeman Boadi, affectionately known as ‘Zuba’, in political circles, has said as the country seeks to uproot the canker from the system, only an Anas’ style of journalism will differentiate the moral from the immoral.

“Anas’ undercover journalism is crucially needed in the country because it has the potential of putting fear into the people, especially, those occupying positions in government and in the public sector.

“This style of journalism will make people in responsible positions in the country to be alert always and also think twice whenever they have the desire to indulge in corruption to become rich overnight”.

Speaking on Nhyira FM, the NDC activist said with people like Anas in the system “the days when people in responsible positions had the comfort and peace to indulge in corrupt activities, will vanish into thin air”.
