Clergyman calls for peace in Agona Swedru

Reverend Emmanuel Kaatey, in charge of Christ Apostolic Church at Agona Swedru, has appealed to members of Zongo communities and other residents in the town to co-exit peacefully. He called for an end to the recent conflict that erupted between some members of the Zongo communities and other residents at Agona Swedru. Rev. Kaatey made the appeal in a sermon he delivered at a watch night Church service to usher in New Year, on Friday at Agona Swedru. At Damascus Church at Agona Swedru, Rev. Paul Gyasi Acheampong in a New Year message, cautioned the youth against drug abuse, alcoholism, prostitution and armed robbery as they entered 2010. Rev. Dadibo Acquah, Head of Twelve Apostles Church at Agona Mensakrom, called on Christians to pray for the people and President of Ghana. He cautioned "end-time" pastors against the use of fallacious means to rob their followers of money and valuable properties. Rev. Acquah asked the youth to respect the elderly and desist from violence and apply dialogue in settling their grievances. At Assemblies of God Church at Agona Swedru, Rev. Charles Arkoh-Nunoo called on Ghanaians to support the government in its efforts at building a better country and stop " the pull him down attitude" which could affect national development.
