Ghana Dubai Now Refuse Dump - PHOTOS

The Kwame Nkrumah Circle Interchange in the country’s capital, Accra, which many refer to as ‘Dubai’ is gradually becoming a dumping ground for garbage.

Right under the nose of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) office at Circle, refuse is dumped along pavements and on the fly over.

Officials of the AMA seem to look on unconcerned although they are mandated to ensure that the city is clean and clear of dirt.

The pile of refuse on the flyover and pavements pose a threat to drivers and pedestrians alike.

Residents of the city are staggering under the fear of an impending catastrophe if AMA fails to clear the refuse instantly and take action immediately.

A visit by 3news.com shows heaps of rubbish gathered along the street at Circle.

The pile of refuse poses danger since parts of the road has been covered with rubbish.

Some traders said that the indiscriminate dumping of refuse in the area is unhygienic and called on city authorities to clear the place off the filth.
