Do not love the pleasures of the world-Pastor

Pastor Richard Duncan, Minister in-charge of Nkoranza branch of Gospel Light International Church, has urged the youth not to be enslaved by the pleasures and wealth of the world, which could lead them into destruction. He advised them to live above reproach and live by the teachings of the Bible so that they would grow into responsible citizens. Delivering his New Year message to members of the church at Nkoranza at the weekend, Pastor Duncan condemned the get rich quick practice known as "sakawa" by some youth. He asked them to rather take their education seriously to achieve high academic laurels which would help them become useful and responsible citizens. Pastor Duncan appealed to politicians to place the welfare of the people and the development of the country above their personal interests "since the people voted them to power to serve and not to be served. "Even though you have the power to rule, you should also respect the views of the people and listen to their voice to meet their expectations", he said. Pastor Duncan called on Ghanaians irrespective of political affiliations to support the government and to play their respective roles as stakeholders to move the country forward. He advised Christians to maintain their faith in God and urged religious leaders to pray unceasingly to promote national stability.
