The youth were also told to explore new technologies in the world of work as they exit the country’s mandatory national service.

Mr Chinnia named the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) and the National Youth Policy as some of the programmes that create several opportunities and could inspire the youth to develop their creativity and help reduce the country’s chronic unemployment situation.

He was grateful to the personnel particularly those who worked in the Upper West Region for contributing their quota to the development of Ghana.

“I wish to thank all service personnel who worked in various fields in the region during this ended service period,” he said.

The celebration was on the theme: “Developing the possibilities”. Participants took to float through Wa Township.

The Upper West Regional Director of the National Youth Authority, Mr Mumuni Sulemana, charged them to develop their capabilities around areas of their passion, saying, “You would be game changers by not relying on government for work and rather become entrepreneurs.”

“It is not all about getting the white man colure job, but about you being your own boss,” he added.
