It Will Require Discipline To Unseat NDC Jake

An aspiring Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, has said that the NPP requires more discipline to take power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) government in the 2012 General Election. At a meeting with the press in last Obetsebi-Lamptey said without efforts to promote discipline among the rank, file and leadership, winning power would be a mirage. He noted that the NDC had not done much to please Ghanaians and added that what was now important was for NPP to work and prepare itself to take over from the NDC in 2012. He said the NPP was destined to recapture power but pointed out that this would not be on a silver platter. He therefore, asked the party members not to slumber but be vigilant and work in the communities to ensure that the party recaptured power. He also appealed to the NPP to vote him as Chairman at the partys next congress, saying as chairman he would ensure that all aspiring presidential candidates had level playing fields. That, he said, would ensure that the party was united even after the election of a presidential candidate, to reduce the acrimony associated with the election process.
