Illegal Miners who may be thinking the reshuffle of the Peter Amewu to the Energy Ministry means some respite for them may have to think again, as the newly appointed Minister for Lands and Natural Resources Kwaku Asoma-Cheremeh has vowed to continue the fight began by his predecessor, promising to even strengthen the fight, MyNewsGh.com learnt.

Speaking on Ghana Yensom on Accra 100.5FM hosted by Chief Jerry Forson Friday, 10 August, monitored by MyNewsGH.com, the new Minister said:

“I will continue from where Amewu left off, and, so, anybody rejoicing that Amewu has been removed should stand well because I will continue the fight against galamsey.” he declared.

He promised to strengthen the fight even more to protect the water bodies as the vision of the president is.

“The fight against galamsey will rather be strengthened under my watch, we will follow the law to ensure that the president’s vision of protecting the water bodies and the environment is achieved.”
