Bawku Gunman Remanded

THE BOLGATANGA Circuit Court has remanded one Ibrahim Sulley to lawful police custody in Bawku to help with investigations into a shooting incident that occurred in the Bawku Municipality on Thursday, January 7, 2010. According to a police prosecutor, John Adjuah, the suspect was arrested by a joint police-military patrol team on suspicion that he could be connected to a shooting incident in the area. When the suspect was searched after his arrest, a magnum pistol with three rounds of live ammunition was found on him. He was then handed over to the police for prosecution. Ibrahim Sulley was among seven people picked up by the police-military patrol team in connection with a shooting incident around the Kariama market in the Bawku Municipality. He was however the only one who appeared before court yesterday. He will re-appear before Judge H. William Boampong on Monday, 11 January 2010, after which the police say they would have gathered enough information to prosecute effectively.
