As part of its commitment to improving the lives of the less privileged in the society, Wapic Insurance (Ghana) Limited has donated food items, toiletries and school uniforms to the “Shelter for Neglected Children” a Dream Africa Care Foundation (DACF) project, located at Teshie- Nungua in the Greater Accra Region.

The donation forms part of the company’s annual corporate social responsibility initiative, which has the agenda this year, to support the poor, needy and the underprivileged in society.

Handing over the items, the Managing Director of Wapic Insurance (Ghana) Limited, Mr. Adedayo Arowojolu stated that, it is the company’s initiative to be responsible for the environment and to purposefully make these children feel important and cared for.

He stated that Wapic is also poised, not only to make these children have hope for the future but also to be part of their future success story.

“Every company is expected to be responsible for their environment that is why we have taken this initiative in making these children achieve their dreams. We are happy to be a part of this project and to invest in this project as an organization. We have looked at the operation of Dream Africa Care Foundation and we want to help them fulfil their dreams and objective. As an organization, we have come to show our affiliation and partnership with Dream Africa because we believe we are in this together. We all work together in making our environment and country better’’ he added.

In an interview with gijonline.com, the Project Coordinator of Dream Africa Care Foundation, Prince Jamal Issakar thanked the management and staff of Wapic Insurance (Ghana) Limited for the kind gesture which he described as “indeed timely.”

"We really appreciate this donation. It will go a long way to help shelter the kids. Wapic has been very helpful to us for the past two years in putting up a school structure at Agbogbloshie. They have over the years supported us with furniture, educational materials and they are here again with these items. It is a very laudable idea and we encourage other corporate organisations to get involved in community projects’’ he said.
