Back Off…Don’t Let Small Small Boys Deceive You – Allotey Jacobs To Kwesi Botchway

The Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has asked Professor Kwesi Botchway to ‘back off’ if truly he intends to contest the flagbearership position of the party.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that the former Finance Minister under the erstwhile Rawlings administration is lacing his boots to contest former President John Mahama and 10 others for the flagbearership position.

Meanwhile he has debunked media reports that he is going to contest the chairmanship position.

Even though Prof Botchway has not stated emphatically that he wants to lead the party for the 2020 elections,  Allotey Jacobs has warned him to ‘back off’ because the time for the ‘(candidates) Central Region has passed’.

According to him, “I would have wished he will be part of Mahama‘s economic management team because he was appointed by NEC. When Mahama wins (flagbearership), committees will be set up and Manifest will be realigned that is where we need Prof Kwesi Botchway to make a very good input and not to go and contest…the time for the central region is passed”

“Prof (Kwesi botchway), you can’t eat your cake and have it; you were appointed to go into the reasons why we lost the elections and you have come out with reasons and solutions. Don’t let these small small boys confuse you. You are an asset to the people of the central region” he added.
