A Broadcast Journalist, Sampson Kwame Nyamekye with the Despite Media Group was over the weekend honoured by Asanteman Association of Colorado and Asanteman North America in United States of America for his outstanding contribution to society in his chosen profession.

His award comes on the heels of immense input in the growth of Journalism in Ghana.

Sampson Kwame Nyamekye has been working with Despite Media Group (DMG) for the past fourteen years and he is noted for his human interest's stories in the Ashanti Region where he has been corresponding for the mother station Peace FM and United Television (UTV) in Accra.

Currently, he is the General Manager for Hello fm, in Kumasi.

He was honored alongside the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon Simon Osei Mensah; the first Deputy Speaker and also the Member of Parliament for Bekwai constituency, Hon Joseph Osei Owusu; the Tepamanhene, Nana Adusei Atwenewa Ampem and NPP MP for Manhyia North, Hon Collins Owusu Amankwaa.
