The United States of America and its allies are not learning the important lessons of recent history and from all indications; they are bent on repeating the same mistakes they have made in Iraq and Afghanistan in Yemen. Western policy in Yemen is hinged on the misconception that the whole country is divided into the camps of bad guys and good guys. As far as Obama and his friends are concerned, the only solution to what they see as the problem in Yemen is to bomb the bad guys to death. They cannot see that this policy has failed everywhere it has been implemented including Cuba, South Africa, Angola, Mozambique, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. Demonizing Yemen and booming its poor people in a futile attempt to compel surrender is at best foolish. The US can only maintain its influence on the world theatre if it recognizes the right of all nations to choose independent paths to development. The US and its allies will soon realise that Yemen will not surrender.
