Black Queens Are Not Prepared For AWCON

The former member of the Black Princesses management committee, Rosalind Amoh is worried about the level of preparations by the Black Queens ahead of the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations.

Rosalind believes the Black Queens need to step up preparations ahead of the 2018 CAF women Africa Cup of Nations. According to her, the team cannot go into a major tournament playing only local sides and expect a silverware.

The Black Queens have been involved in a couple of low profile friendlies, engaging some local select sides in their regional tour.

Despite hints of a possible friendly with other African countries, Rosalind Amoo is unimpressed with how preparations have unfolded so far with the team.

“I think they need to step up their preparations because you can’t go into a major tournament playing local sides, if anything at all the performance of the Black Princesses at the world cup in France recently should be an eye opener and something that we should take a cue from. If you want to go to the international level to do well, you need to prepare well,” she told Accra based radio station, 3 FM.

The Black Princesses exited the female u-20 world cup at the group stage after a shambolic showdown in France.

With just about two months to the start of the competition, the Black Queens are currently in the western region where they are still preparing towards the impending Africa Women Cup of Nations.

The tournament is set to start on the 17th of November 2018.
