Ghana Exim Bank Boss Didn't Resign Because of Procurement Malpractices – Abronye

Brong-Ahafo Regional First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party [NPP], Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as ‘Abronye DC’ says claims that the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana EXIM Bank has resigned over corruption allegations are false.

According to 'Abronye', Ms Cynthia Pamela Akotoaa Addo resigned from her position to take up an equally important position as a Judicial Secretary.

“The deputy CEO madam Pamela A. Addo resigned because she has been appointed as the judicial Secretary upon the vacancy of same position and not because of procurement breaches as described by the malicious publication,” he said in a statement copied to Peacefmonline.com.

Ms Addo who resigned from her post has been accused of corruption by some individuals – but Abronye says the accusation is an “agenda” to tarnish the reputation of the immediate former deputy CEO of Ghana Exim Bank.

In recent times, some journalist have proved to be up to their task. However, there are a few bad nuts who have decided to turn themselves into either stomach journalists or "agenda" journalists.

I was surprised when I saw a media publication by one ghananewspage.com insinuating that, the Deputy CEO of Exim Bank has resigned as a result "chop chop" and procurement breaches by the CEO himself.

Setting The Records Straight on The Resignation of the Deputy Exim Bank CEO

1. It is a complete falsehood and misconception to say that, the deputy CEO resigned as a result of procurement malpractices happening at the Exim bank and that, the general public should disregard that story and further treat same with the necessary contempt.

2. The deputy CEO madam Pamela A. Addo resigned because she has been appointed as the judicial secretary upon the vacancy of same position and not because of procurement breaches as described by the malicious publication

3. Granted without admission that, there has been chop chop at the Exim Bank, the deputy CEO who has just resigned happened to be the head of finance at the Bank and that anything about procurement passed through her hands or office.
I would therefore like to ask the following questions
I. What contract resulted to the procurement breaches?
ii. Who were the parties involved in the contract?
iii. What or which project was to be executed?
iv. Was the contract offered through sole sourcing?

4. It must be noted that because of the good works of the CEO for Exim Bank, some people have decided to dent his image. The CEO for Exim Bank through instrumentality and hardwork has started financing most of the 1 district 1 Factory initiative by the president which will enable most of the youth gain employment. He is committed at helping the president creating more jobs for the grassroot members of the NPP and youth.

5. During the regime of the NDC, they spent $64 million only on constructing an office for the Exim Bank. That money would have solved part of our unemployment crises in this country. Because of the dedication of the current Exim Bank CEO Lawrence Agyinsam, he has decided to help the government and president create more jobs for the youth.

6. Because of the hardwork and incitive of the CEO, the NDC has hired some people to spill propaganda on the garments of CEO.

7. As a matter of urgency, the editor for ghananewspage.com should retract his publication and further render an unqualified apology to the CEO, deputy CEO and the general public for misleading them.
