Few days ago, Mr. Joshua Akamba of the National Democratic Congress, was criticized severely for invading the Tempane Senior High School to promote his political agenda and latest to join the fray, is the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party.

Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi is of the opinion the NDC scribe erred gravely in “introducing the NDC’s style of politics to children who have no dislike for President Nana Akufo-Addo and the present NPP administration“.

According to him, it is about time politicians knew there is a limit to the politics they practised in the country and wondered if Joshua Akamba “left his thinking cap at the NDC’s headquarters” before engaging the students in the North.

“I am forced to believe that the NDC, after former president Mahama recently made certain comments about free SHS is bent on destroying the program.

How can you have Joshua Akamba invade a school just to preach such hatred to the student and shamefully post the video?

I can only assume he left his thinking cap at the NDC’s headquarters in Accra before traveling. He has disgraced his party and his own family.”, Chairman Wontumi said.

As part of his campaign for the National Organizer position of the NDC, Mr. Joshua Akamba, who was on a tour of the Upper East Region paused to interact with the students of the school,amidst chantings like "NDC", "JM 2020", "NDC 2020" when they saw the NDC colours on his car.

The video captured the students complaining bitterly to Mr. Joshua Akamba about their living conditions in the school, the congestion in the various dormitories leading to the outbreak of bed buds and bemoaned the reckless nature in which the noble free Senior High School programme is being implemented by the Akufo-Addo led government.

Chairman Wontumi therefore called on the various authorities with mandate to ensure sanity in our education sector not to rest on the matter and punish politicians especially, Mr. Akamba for snaring innocent students into politics.

“The Christain Council and heads of the Muslim religion must condemn Akamba for such folly. The BNI , National Security and other agencies who are permitted by law to investigate and bring culprits to book, must also take a look at this matter.

We are governed by laws, we ain’t lower animals like Joshua wants to be. We must at all times put on our thinking cap and know there is a limit to the politics we do”, Chairman Wontumi advised.
