"Prof Obiri-Danso Will Soon Be History" - Nana B Assures KNUST Students

NPP National Youth Organizer, Nana Boakye has urged students of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to remain calm and stop vandalizing properties on campus.

Nana Boakye has asked the students to heave a sigh of relief as the government is working to bring a lasting solution to the misunderstanding between the students and the University authorities.

Students at Katanga Hall of the KNUST, on Monday, October 22, 2018, embarked on a violent demonstration against the University authorities.

The students thronged the streets on campus in their numbers, clad in red and amidst the protest vandalized several properties including the office and car of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso.

A misunderstanding between the students and the school's authorities resulted in the arrest of about 10 students, leading up to the demonstration.

The students are also protesting against a decision by the Vice Chancellor and the authorities to turn the all-male Katanga Hall into a mixed hall with females.

There were disturbing scenes on campus as the students destroyed and burned down some properties, ranging from cars to motorbikes.

Nana Boakye, popularly called Nana B, has hinted that the Vice Chancellor will soon become "history".

This is to assure them that the Vice Chancellor will be sanctioned accordingly to perhaps avoid Katanga Hall being mixed with females.

"I am very confident that Prof Obiri-Danso will soon be history. Very very soon," he posted.
