Spio, Sure Of Victory

One of the candidate to become a vice-chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Dr. Ekow Spio Garbah has affirmed his confidence to win election come congress on Saturday at Tamale. Speaking in an interview in Accra last week, he said important factor in his campaign is that it is Gods plan that he wins. Continuing, he said the delegates to the Tamale congress know the kind of people at the NDC headquarters who can fight for them and not their personal gains. On his qualities, Dr. Spio-Garbrah mentioned his courage and eloquence in addressing issues, as well as his loyalty, commitment, love and sacrifice to the party. He also added his instrumentality in fund-raising. He also added his past contributions in solving problems, as well as efforts in the reorganizing of the NDC after losing the 2000 general elections. On some of his work in the party, he said he worked in the party headquarters as the National Director communication. The aspiring national vice chairman lamented that since the NDC came to power last year many party faithfuls and appointees in government have not shown empathy to the partys foot soldiers who toiled to bring victory to the NDC. Dr. Spio-Garbah said he has always opened his doors to the foot soldiers in affable, supportive and supporting, and has been a voice of the voiceless. He said he has been a demonstrator of courage to the party and government hierarchy. These according to him are the reasons why he is seeking to become the Vice-chairman of the NDC. He said out of government, he has served as the chief of Staff at the Christian Action Faith Ministry where he protected church assets, thus serving God in his (Gods) own home, and believes that God will propel him to this position.
