OmniBank Embarks On Healthy Lifestyle With Health Walk

OmniBank organized a health walk over the weekend as part of its commitment to promoting healthy living among customers and also to show appreciation to its customers despite the current challenges in the banking sector.

The walk dubbed: "Customer Appreciation Health Walk" attracted over 200 staff and management participated in the five-kilometer walk from Efua Sutherland Park through Kimbu road, Ghana Law school road, Accra Post Office, through High Street and back to Efua Sutherland Park.

Managing Director of OmniBank, Philip Oti-Mensah said the walk was part of their effort to keep staff members healthy and strong so they can serve their customers better.

“This year has been particularly stressful and challenging so we want to take advantage of that to sensitize staff about healthy living so that they can live long” he stated.

“October has been chosen for the health walk because it's customer appreciation month.

“We all know that the perception of Ghanaian-owned banks are not in good shape, however, we have very loyal customers who have stayed with us and this is why we are still alive and we owe our existence now to them” he added.

Mr. Oti-Mensah also assured staff of job security ahead of its merger with Sahel Sahara bank.

The consolidation of the two banks is to create a stronger bank that can meet the Bank of Ghana’s(BoG) new minimum capital requirement of GHS400 million by December this year.

So far, BoG gave a ‘no objection’ response to the merger presentation and we hope for a good news in the coming days.

Mr. Oti-Mensah used the opportunity to congratulate the team for the dedication and enthusiasm in executing their various roles and the many incremental strides achieved.

He mentioned that for them at OmniBank, they are always looking forward for new ways of exciting their customers and going beyond their expectations.

He thanked customers  for being committed and loyal to the bank despite current bank challenges.
