I'ld Have Said Worse Things To The Media....Nonsense, Stupid! – Ken Agyepong

Member of Parliament (MP) for the Assin Central constituency, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong is backing various comments and actions made by Kwame Owusu in the wake of allegations of conflict of interest made against the latter.

To him, not only are the allegations against his close pal spurious, but "stupid" as well.

The embattled Director General of the Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA), Kwame Owusu made headlines last week after he held a news conference to rebut accusations that he had misappropriated taxpayers’ money and also put himself in a conflict of interest position, following his organization’s decision to hold an end-of-year party with state funds in a hotel he owns.

At a press conference, Mr Owusu verbally attacked journalists; accusing them of leading a “mischief” against him.

Kennedy Agyepong speaking to the issue Monday on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme asked those in the media, who are hell-bent on on ‘tarnishing the image’ of his close pal (Mr Owusu) to ‘shut up’.

Kwame Owusu is a very good friend of mine and he tells me everything. Why have journalists in this country refused to do due diligence before accusing him of misappropriating funds…

The party was held at the Ghana Maritime premises. There is nothing like a conflict of interest anywhere so you guys should shut up. In fact, if I were Kwame, I would have said worst things. This is just nonsense; excuse me, but this is just stupid....look at your face,...Some journalists are so foolish and stupid they want to run down some respected persons. What nonsense is going on?” he rhetorically asked.
